Straightforward answers to the questions that come up in every district conversation.
Implementation & Timeline
How long does implementation take?
+
4 weeks from contract to classroom. Week 1–2: SSO/LMS setup and configuration. Week 3: Staff training and onboarding. Week 4: Student onboarding and go-live.
What hardware is required?
+
None. Dilly runs on existing student devices—phones, tablets, and laptops. No additional infrastructure, servers, or hardware purchases required.
Does it integrate with our LMS?
+
Yes. SSO and LMS integration is available at District tier and above. Dilly works with Canvas, Schoology, Google Classroom, and others. Setup typically takes less than a week.
Privacy & Compliance
Is Dilly FERPA compliant?
+
Yes. Student education records are controlled by the district. Dilly acts as a school official under a signed Data Privacy Agreement (DPA). No data is shared with third parties.
Where does student data go?
+
Core AI features run on the student’s device. Essays and scoring happen locally. This is architecturally provable, not just a policy promise. Data minimization by design.
What about state privacy laws?
+
Dilly is compliant with California (CalOPPA, CCPA), New York (Ed Law 2-d), Illinois (SOPPA), Colorado, Virginia, and Connecticut privacy frameworks.
AI & Academic Integrity
Does Dilly write essays for students?
+
No. Dilly grades essays and provides feedback. It helps students write better—not write for them. AI detection scoring on every essay flags potential integrity issues before they become problems.
How does the AI literacy curriculum work?
+
A 4-year grade-banded curriculum covering grades 9–12. 32 modules total, 56 hours of instruction. Aligned with AI4K12 and CSTA standards. Runs on student devices. Includes quizzes, exercises, and teacher guides.
Does completing AI modules count toward the readiness score?
+
Yes. AI literacy completion directly improves the Build dimension of the Career Readiness Score—creating a visible incentive for students to engage with the curriculum.
Pricing & ROI
What does it cost?
+
$5–8 per student per year depending on district size. A 30,000-student district pays approximately $100K per year—less than 1 counselor salary. See Pricing for full details.
What’s the ROI case for the board?
+
Quarterly metrics include: readiness score improvements, AI literacy completion rates, college application rates, parent engagement, counselor time saved, and equity gap reduction. One-click accreditation-ready reports make board presentations effortless.
Can we start with a pilot?
+
Yes. The Pilot tier covers up to 500 students at $8 per student. Full platform access from day one. Upgrade to Standard, District, or Enterprise anytime as you scale.
How Dilly Is Different
How is this different from Naviance?
+
Naviance does college matching but doesn’t score readiness, doesn’t teach AI literacy, doesn’t grade essays, and doesn’t run AI on-device. Dilly does all four in one platform.
What about YouScience or Xello?
+
YouScience does aptitude testing but nothing ongoing. Xello does career exploration but has no AI, no scoring, and no essay grading. No single platform does what Dilly does—readiness scoring, AI literacy, essay development, career exploration, and college admissions in one system.
